THE ZMMAA CERTIFICATION

The IMMAF certification program for coaches and officials is world-class. However, we at ZMMAA realise that for many of our members, the IMMAF certifications require a level of experience that is hard to acquire with the sport in its infancy here in Zimbabwe.

The ZMMAA certification program provides a platform to gain the necessary experience within Mixed Martial Arts so you can grow with the sport. Additionally, it provides you with a probationary certification to begin gaining that valuable experience on the domestic circuit.

As the sport grows here in Zimbabwe, we must train officials who can perform duties such as a referee, judge, corner-man/woman, cut-man/woman etc. For the national competitions to function effectively, let alone for local promotions to be able to operate without importing expertise from abroad, we need officials who live locally.

The ZMMAA certification program provides prospective officials with the training and work experience they need to conduct their duties safely and confidently. With a ZMMAA certification, an official can operate under a probationary system anywhere in Zimbabwe. Only ZMMAA-certified officials will be put forward for IMMAF certification training programs. IMMAF CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

WHY IMMAF CERTIFICATION?

IMMAF is the only legitimate global governing body for amateur MMA, working for Olympic recognition. With over 120 nations as members and National Olympic Committee recognition in over 40 countries. IMMAF has a seven-year track record of organising nations’ MMA Championship tournaments with a rich back catalogue of programme material. IMMAF’s recent World Championships in 2019 featured over 400 matches over five days, while its Continental and World events continue to grow exponentially yearly.

IMMAF COACHING CERTIFICATION

The IMMAF Coach Education and Certification program helps coaches develop the best level of competence, build presentation and teaching skills and acquire sound knowledge of training methodology. We aim to set the best standards for coaching practice in amateur MMA worldwide and regulatory measures to enable continuous professional development.

IMMAF CUTMAN LICENSING

Unifying standards and providing education for the cutman medical practice is of utmost importance for IMMAF in fulfilling a duty of care to competing athletes. Therefore, the IMMAF Cutman Progression Scheme includes three levels (C, B & A) with professional licenses issued at levels B (National Level) and A (International Level). Licenses are awarded on completion of IMMAF Cutman Certification courses and based on records of events serviced. This program has been hosted globally for men and women and draws upon the experience of industry leaders Joe Clifford and Bob plant, both highly experience boxing and UFC cutmen.
